The product
KisanGyan is our own product, live on Google Play. It puts an AI agronomist named Mitra in the pocket of farmers across India — and Mitra speaks, rather than expecting a farmer to type.
Most agricultural advisory answers one question: what should I do today? Mitra answers the harder ones. What should I grow this season, given my soil and the monsoon forecast? What should follow it next year? How do I rebuild soil that has been declining for three seasons? It remembers the farmer's name, their family, and the history of their land.
Who it is for. Farmers across India, in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada and Odia — plus English.

What KisanGyan does
Talk, do not type
Ask Mitra anything by voice in your own language and hear the answer back. Speech recognition and synthesis run across Indian languages, so literacy is never a barrier to advice.
What to grow, not just what to spray
A five-factor recommendation engine weighs soil match, rotation benefit, monsoon fit, market outlook and downside risk before suggesting a crop for the coming season.
Crop disease from a photo
Point the camera at an affected leaf and get a diagnosis on the spot. The detection model runs on the phone itself, so it works with no signal and costs nothing in data.
Rotation planning across years
Multi-season rotation tracking backed by established agronomic research, so the plan for this kharif accounts for what the field grew last rabi and what it should grow next.
Soil regeneration, offered unprompted
When a farm's soil indicators trend down, Mitra proactively suggests green manure, compost and cover-crop interventions — and then tracks whether they worked.
Mandi prices and weather that matter
Local mandi rates, market outlook and official weather advisories delivered on a schedule tuned to the farming day, with strict quiet hours so nobody is woken at 1 a.m.
Neighbouring farmers, connected
Peer chat links farmers growing the same crops nearby, because the most trusted advice in a village usually comes from two fields over.
Never sells inputs
Mitra has no commercial incentive in its recommendations. It will tell a farmer to use less fertiliser, because that is sometimes the right answer.
